Tax year 2019 EFILE season announced by CRA

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) EFILE service closes on January 17, 2020 for annual maintenance. Preparers will not be able to file most types of returns and forms until the service reopens on February 24, 2020

The CRA EFILE service stops accepting transmissions of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 initial T1 personal income tax and benefit returns, as well as ReFILE adjustments to 2016, 2017 and 2018 returns at 11:00 p.m. EST on Friday, January 17, 2020

The EFILE system reopens at 8:30 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, February 24, 2020. Preparers will be able to EFILE for 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

EFILE accepts the current tax year and up to three prior-tax year returns only. The 2015 return will no longer be accepted.
